Scotland!

Before I begin I must preface this by saying these pictures are neither in a sensible nor chronological order! I did try to move the pictures but I'm afraid the program has defeated me.

We finally made it safe and sound to Scotland and found our lovely little B&B that was to be our home for the next 6 sleeps.

It was so amazing to visit all the family up there! Here we are with my mum's cousins Morag, Myra, and Birtha!

One night we went out for a delicious Italian dinner with Myra, Jack, Sedona, and George (my grandma's brother!)

Jack has an amazing train set city he has built in the attic of his house. It has taken him years and he has hand painted so many of the little cars and buses. He used to be a paramedic so he has recreated major highway crashes it's so much fun to look at! So anyway here he is checking out a model shop we walked past!

On a different day we met Sue, who had also come up from London, and Jane and went for a drive around the tussocks!

We found a wool mill that did some sheep herding demonstrations... with ducks! (The picture is later haha)

This is where we had lunch. It was so beautiful there!

EDINBURGH!!!

Because I hurt my foot, I couldn't really walk a lot so we got a little bit addicted to hop on hop off bus tours!

GLASGOW!!

Now we go back to our day with Sue and Jane!

The ducks! This was probably the funniest thing I have seen in ages.

This is the town where Ewan McGregor is from!

These two were so adorable!

We went and saw the Forth Bridge that goes over to Fife where my grandma was from! So many people died building this bridge that they built a monument to them.

Robert the Bruce!

Robert the Bruce keeping guard of Stirling Castle!

The Wallace Monument

We didn't have enough time to go to Stirling Castle but we got to go on a free tour of Argyll's Lodgings!

Our tour group started very small but by the end was huge... Who knows how that happened...

At 11 at night we decided to go and see the Monty Python castle! It is so light in Scotland at 11pm!

We each had to have a go at pretending to to ride a horse and clapping imaginary coconuts together!

Then I took a picture of a ghost!

NEWCASTLE!!

It was time to leave Scotland after an action packed week. On our way back down sounth we stopped through Newcastle! Even though it poured with rain and was totally flooded everywhere, I liked Newcastle a lot!

We also stopped in to see my mum's childhood friend Cathy on the way back down as well! Those pics are still to come! Tune in next time! Same KaBlam time, same KaBlam network!

Driving to Old Bonnie Scotland

Scotland eee! I met my mum in Bristol in the morning on Sunday. We raced each other there in our trains. I won.

We picked up our rental car then I promptly fell down the curb and twisted my ankle like I have never done before. In a state of shock and determination not to have ruined the holiday already, I decided to try walk it off as that usually works. By the time we found our rental car I couldn't feel my foot at all anymore but decided that was just it getting better. I put my foot up on the dashboard and on we went!

It took us ages to find our way out of Bristol, what a place! But eventually we figured out how to get out of the circle we were driving in and on the road to Wales we finally were.

This is Caerphilly, it is a really quite cool place! We went to see the castle which was amazing!

I was obviously already deep in photo mode as we wandered up to the castle.

We finally made it to Liverpool where we stayed the night. The next day we went a little bit Beatle crazy.

This is Penny Lane!

We also went to the Beatles museum!

This is Paul McCartney's childhood house.

And John Lennon's!

We even went to Strawberry Fields!

And the Cavern Club where they used to play back before they were super famous.

On our way from Liverpool we drove through the lake district where Beatrix Potter used to live. It was so beautiful!
