Daisy!

Yesterday I worked at a classic car show in Essex which was so fun. Me and Prue had to somehow find our way out there in the van and we got so lost! But eventually we found it. There were lots of fancy cars, new and old, and there was also a spitfire show which was both amazing and terrifying! Also F1 driver Max Chilton was there. Whoever he is.

I spent the day making coffees with Ed which was fun because it was so busy. I forgot to bring my camera but I think Prue took a couple pics I will hopefully be able to get!

We were right by the stage where bands and music were playing VERY LOUD all day so hearing the customers was impossible - we became very good at lip reading and gesturing questions! And it was really windy! and the coffee would come out of the grinder and immediately fly away into the wind. So annoying.

Yesterday I was working with a coffee machine on a BIKE!! Next I am working in this!

This is where I worked today! And where I will be tomorrow as well! Cute ay! I didn't have my camera again today but I found this picture on twitter that the lovely people at the Thai food truck took! They gave us lunch too - yum!

Today it was hipster central! I actually don't think I have seen that many hipsters in one place it was quite incredible.

It was really dead for us as it was more of a beer event it seems! But tomorrow is kids day so it will be busier I think. And it's meant to be sunny and 22 so here's hoping that's not a terrible lie.

Tomorrow I will remember my camera so you can have less jibber-jabber and more pictures!

P.S. The truck has a moo bell. It's amazing.

Where I Live and Where I Work

So I thought maybe I should put some pics up of our house and also the cafe I work at so you can see what it's like over here!

This is mine and Robert's private garden! It has a slide! A real slide!

That train you can see going by is the tube! It's the District line and at first I could have sworn it drove right through our house, but now I guess I am used to it because I don't mind anymore. The Hammersmith & City line also goes to our station for all those London people out there who can make any sense of that =D and we live very near the DLR as well.

It's been so sunny lately and our room gets the best afternoon and evening sunshine! And we have a couch too! A slide and a couch! Currently the couch is used as my storage area. As is the floor. The slide is next.

Just a wee example of how messy my side is. Robert's side is always nice and tidy. I decorated my side's walls tho!

Vanessa (gosh you get a lot of shout outs in this blog! You are the only one that comments though, so I just assume you're the only one that looks at it, and therefore, I write it for you.) look what Robert got for me from the 99p store!! Don't worry, I'll get you one.

Here are some pics that I got from my work's website... It's such a cool place!

This is downstairs. They got a street artist to come in and paint all the walls outside and they put turf down and we call it the secret garden! This bit is actually outside but below the road. It's quite incredible! People lose the plot when they see it! There are bouquets or bananas all over the place too haha and when they get old, we turn them into banana bread! I made 4 loaves of it today!

I certainly did not make this coffee! All the baristas do this though. I am terrified to go near the coffee machine there haha everyone is so clever.

We have a smoker downstairs too and we smoke all our own Salmon that they get from the fishmonger! And the salads are incredible. So so yum!

This is the upstairs. That's my boss Prue on the far left and that's Ed sitting with her. We three are working at the Warren Classic Car Show tomorrow in Essex!

That's Prue again in the cow suit. Haha! And that's Tom her partner laughing at her by the door. They are fun! Prue is from Australia and is just so lovely and always laughing!

Haha the cow.

Yesterday I went to Oxford on the train to meet my mum and Sue and Jane for the day! It was lovely and warm and sunny.

This is Sue and Jane standing on the bridge. We are going up to visit Jane in Scotland in June. I can't wait to see Scotland! But I found out today that there won't be enough time to see the Loch Ness Monster, so now I wonder why we are going at all.

Oxford is a stunning place. Especially in the spring! So good thing I went there in spring.

This is the Oxford Castle Mound...

The prison at Oxford Castle has been turned into a hotel now! And apparently it costs looots of money to stay there. At jail. You have to pay to stay at jail... ?

The blossoms are still out and the baby leaves are growing now in Oxford. It was much nicer this time than last time I came here. Last time it was too cold to take my camera out of my bag!

This is Lewis Carol's garden at Christ Church College I mentioned in an earlier blog.

This is the front of Christ Church College where Lewis Carol went to uni.

This busker just stood with one foot on the rope and played the violin. As if playing the violin on the ground isn't impressive enough.

I believe this is the entrance to the old Bodleian Library. Apparently the Bodleian isn't even the biggest library, The British Library in London is. According to the tour I was eavesdropping on. And also the Bodleian gets 5000 new books per week*!

 An old building.

 The Bodleian... ?

This is the bridge the Oxford students cross to get to their exams.

Apparently this is the building where they filmed the Great Hall in Harry Potter!

*This may be a lie. The tour was quite far away at this point.

QI!!!!!!

Well here it is folks. We, of course, weren't allowed to take pictures, and they were yelling at people for it before it began and when it finished, but here are a few pics that Robert took super stealthily with his phone.

Before it began, there would be all of these facts come up on the TVs! I learned lots of things which I promptly forgot. Then the screens said "Why aren't you at work?" because it was filmed at 3.30 in the afternoon you see and everyone laughed. What a good joke!

The stage manager then came out and told us where the fire exits are etc and informed us sitting in the middle that we would most likely burn as we are far from the exits. He was pretty hilarious! Then he introduced the warm up act... Stephen Fry! Eeee!

Stephen came out and sat in his chair then he recorded that thing for twitter with us. He is just so lovely! Then he introduced the guests - Ross Noble (I was like OMG this is already amazing), then David Mitchell (wow I am going to fall off my chair), Sue Perkins (I don't really know her too well, but turns out she is very funny!) and then Alan (he is the only one we got right when guessing who would be on. Lolzzz).

They bantered for a while then it was, in the words of Stephen Fry "Time for the sexiest theme tune of all time".

It was so great they actually play the theme tune in the studio when it begins and the video plays on those big screens. For some reason I thought they would just add the tune in in post production but they don't! It's all live!

And so the theme music played and we all clapped and cheered and then Stephen Fry was like "I've brought the wrong cards! I've brung the ones for the show later on!"

So someone had to run to his dressing room and find this shows ones! It was so funny. They all just told stories and bantered on the stage again until the person came back with the cards haha it took them ages too! Stephen got quite worried that he'd lost them!

So then we had to do the intro again, which I had no objection to as the theme tune is amazing.

The I won't say what happened because you can watch the episode when it comes out! I think it will be the 5th episode of the K season. The theme was silent K.

After the show finished they played the end theme tune and we clapped the whole way through then they had to rerecord a few bits. This was quite a funny thing to watch actually! We had to clap a lot and then Stephen would say the bit he needed to do again then after a pause, the guests would sarcastically answer the questions in funny ways. And they had to rerecord the goodbye bit because Stephen called Sue Perkins a knob gobbler or something and they wanted him to do it without that just in case it wouldn't be allowed!

The guests also made Stephen Fry say "splendid vagina" a lot haha. I wonder what bits they will leave in and what they will edit out! Ross Noble was definitely the funniest - he did loads of funny things with the audience that they won't put in. He yelled at one woman for leaving before they had filmed the rerecording bits, and kept flashing his cleavage (or lack there of, being that he's a man) at someone in the front row. Can't wait to see the real show!

Reading and Wallingford and Agatha Christie!

On this day I met my mum in Reading and she drove me all around where she lives!

This is Reading! I read on the train but no I didn't do any reading in Reading. In case you were wondering.

 This is a nice picture..

This church had really cool patterns all over it!

 Ponies ponies ponies!!

This is fuzzy because we were driving in a car. But I wanted you to see the countryside! It's so lovely!

This is the house where my mum is living at the moment. Just down the road from where Agatha Christie used to live!

This is my most favorite person I have seen ever.

We had lunch at this pub and sat in the sun.

Next we went to the Wallingford museum... What a place! It was so tiny and everything was just pictures cut out of paper and stuck on the walls! But it was still awesome!

We even got a Walkman each to listen to the tour.

This is the countryside that I now rule. Bow down minions!

 That's a good arch.

By the river we made friends with some ducks. We didn't feed them that... There were mysterious bread slices floating down the river!

Agatha Christie would have been to all of these places!

We did pop in to visit her at her new home before we left. Someone had left her a book she wrote. Perhaps it would have been nicer of them to leave her a book she hadn't written? Since she can't just dot to the library. Graveyards must be awfully boring and I doubt she gets television down there. That's just what I think.
