Camden Market

On Saturday we went to Camden Market. It's in Camden. It rained the whole time we were there so I only got a few sneaky pics. It was a great market tho! It used to be a stable so there are lots of horse statues. Here is a horse head.

Here is a wall of furious steeds.

There were lots of cute wee places like this.

This isn't a picture of that woman. It was just nigh on impossible to take pictures with no people in it!

 But sometimes I managed.

The busy food area. With food from every any country you want! I got doughnuts which are from.... ?

After Camden Market we needed to warm up our cold wet feet so we went to White City which is a big mall. It's just like any other mall. Except it has a strange ceiling.

Here is another picture of the strange ceiling.

Work! But only for 3 days.

This is where I worked for 3 days! I tried to take lots of pictures but I took this one then my camera battery died. mwa-mwow.

I was working for this lady called Maddi - she's the bomb. She has this Italian motorbike that has been turned into a tiny truck with a coffee machine in the back. It's totally adorable. Anyway, she usually just works with it outside King's Cross but she also does conferences and festivals as part of a bigger group of street food/market style food carts and things.

I got a job working with her and 2 others making coffees at this IT conference which, for the first 2 days, I thought was just some dumb confusing computer thing, but then turns out it's like a huge deal and costs 1000 pounds per person to go to and it actually about psychology of how people use the internet and actually seemed like it was really interesting!

Maddi had her little truck outside and I was working inside with this Italian guy called Alfredo (I tried to tell him his name was a pasta dish but he wouldn't have a bar of it.) Basically we were really busy between 9-930 each day then just sat around till they had a break from 11-1130 then sat around till they had lunch 1-2 then sat around till their last break at 330-4 then packed up and went home.. Such fun days! We did so many crosswords - with the help of passing volunteer staff and conference attendees. And I got paid 10 pounds an hour in cash! So amazing! And Maddi is going to let me know about working at all the other events with her. She missed out on Glastonbury  this year but I am sure there will be other wicked festivals to GET PAID to go to!

Wow massive blog. Sorry! I had to make up for lack of pictures.

Greenwich

 Today I went to Greenwich!

I walked up the hill and looked at the awesome view.

This is the O2! That's all I know.

A fancy clock! In Greenwich! Why?!??! Such a mystery.

 Gigantic ship in a bottle.

No one told these trees that it hasn't been autumn for 6 months.

This is probably the reason for the huge ship in a bottle.

A random Greenwich alley featuring flags.

This is the Cutty Sark. That's, again, all I know. Hey, this isn't an information blog.

Here's a picture of the train I was in going past some windows.

And here's another one!

Saturday in London

This is not relevant to this day. I just thought it was a funny picture.

I decided to take my little camera for a couple of days instead of lugging the annoying huge one around. Sadly, it doesn't take as nice pictures. But that's ok!

On Saturday we went to see the world pillow fight championships. Or global pillow hating day. Or global bring your pillow to Trafalgar Square day. Or world gentle violence day. Something day anyway.

There were so so many people there.

Many innocent pillows were sacrificed. Man down. (!!!)

The ground was think with their remains.

 Children were involved.

All the countries of the world were represented in one way or another.

New Zealand even added its 2 cents.

After the pillow war we went to Hyde Park and saw this wee guy.

It was sunny when I grabbed my camera, honestly.

Rochester

Today we went to Rochester and Chatham. It's not the most exciting place but it's where Charles Dickens lived so that's pretty awesome! There were shops trying to be clever by calling themselves "Sweet Expectations" and "Two Cities". I was waiting for a hilariously crafty pun but I had hard times finding one.

(I think!) this is the Rochester Cathedral.

We tried to guess how old this castle is. I didn't win. I guessed 1200s but what I should have said was 12th century. That's actually what I did mean, it just came out wrong.

The main street was actually quite cute but I didn't take a picture of it because I'm a dummy.

Well done team. It's a winning shot.

Brighton

Brighton!

This day was meant to be sunny so we decided to go to Brighton!

This is just a window. But in Brighton!

The pier was pretty cool. But being that it's not summertime, none of the rides were going boo. This wasn't the evening, the sky was just that colour all day! so strange! Apparently it's something to do with pollution coming from France. Gross when you think about it, but it looked pretty cool!

Extreme close up of the rock beach.

 It did eventually get sunny!

 Just in time for sunset.

There was this crazy swarm of tiny black birds. This is just some of them. It looked amazing!

 My mum on the pier.

Mum in an English phone box.

These street lights should be everywhere.
