Honestly, if you want to see proper pictures you shouldn't look here! I was 6 rows back and was behind the tallest people in the world. One of whom was standing on a box!
I got these pics by reaching as high as I could in the air and pointing my camera in random directions!
There were 4000 police officers all together. Here's 2 of them!
Here are the people I saw practicing yesterday. Looking slightly more fancy today!
This is the Guard of Honour.
Twice.
The took their time but the oldies finally learned what to do! The horses on the right are pulling the cart that's carrying the coffin.
Here's the coffin going up the stairs! The queen arrived just before this and everyone sang God Save the queen. There was a military band which played the funeral march and the bell of St Paul's slowly rang while the coffin was going up the stairs. It reminded me, for some reason, of Doctor Faustus (Don't worry if you don't know what that means, why would you? It's a play from the Renaissance and a completely pointless thing to even bring up!)
After everyone had gone into St Paul's I gave up on fighting the crowd and went around and waited by the road. When the ceremony had finished the hearse drove by.
And then... THE QUEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
So there were no protestors that I saw or heard of. One guy standing near me yelled "Long live society!" when the coffin was being taken up the stairs but everyone around him just went "shhhh" and then giggled. I love the British.
Some American guy near me got cross at these Asian ladies for standing on a box and taking pictures. He accused them of being disrespectful and that "You wouldn't be taking pictures if it was your mother's funeral" but again everyone near by just said "shhh".
